Garden art made by ME. :)

I had to ponder different garden arts i would like to create during this semester and i came accross the idea that i would like to make a imprint of my hand. The finished product looked like this.

Also on the wheel i threw a pot with a little help from my friend Justin. But mainly it was me and im so proud because its the first decent pot i have ever thrown !

Raku's.

Here are some different examples of raku kilns
Now here are some other examples of pots that are made out of raku.

Glazes

These are some examples of the cone 05 glazes that i like. I would really be interested in trying some of these out on my pots, the colors are really pretty.

Now here are a lot of different types of cone 5 glazes.
I really like the different types of blues, they really stand out for me. I would like to see more of those kind of colors in the class room.

Heart cup

I made a heart cup. It is shaped as a heart and on the side i carved in hearts all on the outside of it. I painted it cranberry.

March 13th

I was not in class last week Friday so i did not get a chance to post a new post. I just got my face out of the kiln with the full paint and stuff. Mr. Chapman hasnt been here for the past few days so i havn't been able to take pictures of my work. I also just made a garden art. I took a slab of clay and put my hand print in it, above that i made a flower out of clay. Inside the hand i put broken up pices of glass to be melted in the kiln. I painted the base of the whole thing cranberry and the flower sea blue. Around the whole thing i did paint splatters of different colors. I don't have pictures of that either because i havn't gotten the chance yet but as soon as i get my hands on the camera i am going to take pictures.

Different types of pots im studying

Todays friday February 20th and i don't have any new pictures to post, but i am in the making of creating a heart mug. Once its complete II'm going to glaze it to make it shiny and give it to my mom. In the process of making this mug i have tried to create multiple others, but i just did not finish them. I couldn't get them the way i wanted and i got the idea of making a heart mug which should be interesting. Now on my pot i have to think of a text i want to put on it. Here are some examples of different ceramic artworks that use a rich surface texture. These three pots below have all different surface texture. I think that all of these are very creative and have a good texture to them. I'm planning on making a pot with some sort of swirly texture on the side soon like in the first picture.

Next i am going to show you some examples of pots with text in them which i have to create a pot with a text that resembles me, something that is like my brand name.

These to clay plats both have imprinted text on them. I think the first one is a very clear text to read. The second one is the type of text i am supposed to be doing in class. I still have to think of what my signature text is going to be though.

The next pictures i am going to be posting are examples of ceramic garden art.

The first picture on the bottom left is really cool i think. I wish i could make pots like that one day and put them out in my garden. The middle picture on the bottom has a great variety of different textures, texts, shapes, and sizes i really like this picture. Then the picture on the bottom right also shows a good amount of different texts, pots, and different animals you can make out of clay. These pictures all show a good variety of the things we are learning about this semester in ceramics 2.
